A little addendum to electron flow: People think of electrons as little particles racing along. Actually, they move really slowly and don’t care what route they take, up to a point. Any local route will do just fine because the charge will distribute itself onto its conductor and there is no variance in response time. The actual charge speed is c, but the electrons will move at a very slow speed. Almost 30 seconds to move 1 cm. That’s nuts.
