When asked about her experience, Jessica said: Other doctors said I was too damaged to fix. That I would have to live with a spine that drastically reduced my quality of life. But, then I met a doctor at Barnes-Jewish that told me everything could be different. All I wanted was to be able to carry my children and he said that was only the start, that I could have a life with freedom and movement. I wouldn’t have to choose between walking and breathing. He rebuilt my spine and gave my children their mom back. From my experience, impossible isn’t what it used to be.
